About Us

The idea of vesselplan.com was founded some years ago, when there still were a lot of e-mails going back and forth and it was quite tough to always have the latest updates at hand.

"How can we improve the information flow" was a topic that often was discussed in meetings and between people in the shipping business. But it seemed like everybody thought someone else should do the job.

Until...

... a sunny winter day in January 2010 when a couple of people from seven companies met and talked about the possibility to start a system that could handle these problems we faced.

After some discussions we realized that we needed a IT-company that was well-known in our business branch and contacted Imano AB. They gladly accepted to help us build vesselplan.com.

The system has been operational since 24th of August 2010, and since then we have served a lot of users with information and also have got many new users.

During 2015 the ownership was transferred to Sveaskog and SCA who also took over the management of the system.

Imano AB was bought by Tieto in 2016. 

SCA left Vesselplan 2019..
